A project aimed at improving air quality in Kyrgyzstan — the Heat Pump Market Study, funded by the World Bank — has been launched. The project is implemented by UNISON Group.

Description of services:

The goal of the project is to strengthen the capacity of the Kyrgyz Republic in air quality management and to reduce net PM2.5 and greenhouse gas emissions in Bishkek.
This initiative focuses on enhancing the air quality management system, supporting the adoption of clean heating solutions, and improving urban greening.

Result/ Impact:

During the implementation, measures will be introduced to create a market for scaling up the use of clean heating technologies in private houses in Bishkek by improving access to financing for environmentally friendly heating options for households.
It is expected that private financial institutions will provide sub-loans to low-rise residential buildings interested in switching to clean heating solutions, as well as to private organizations seeking to expand their business using clean technologies and heating services.
In this regard, a detailed analysis of the heat pump market in the residential heating sector will be conducted to assess the current structure of the private sector. The study will also identify private sector interest and demand for the introduction of heat pump-based heating solutions in residential buildings in Bishkek.
